Ühinenud Rahvaste Organisatsiooni inimõigusi kajastavalt koduleheküljelt võis augusti alguses lugeda, et Eesti Vabariik ratifitseeris CEDAW konventsiooni lisaprotokolli. Nüüdsest on Eesti ÜRO 116.liikmesriik, kes sellise sammu astus. Õigupoolest ratifitseeris Riigikogu naiste õiguste konventsiooni lisaprotokolli juba kevadel, aga ametlikult peetakse riiki konventsiooniga liitunuks alles pärast seda, kui vastav teade on ÜRO koduleheküljel ilmavalgust näinud.
