I feel honoured to chair the First Session of our Parliamentary Conference. This gives me the opportunity to welcome all of you to the European Parliament and to express my hope that the outcome of the Conference will be satisfactory for all of us.
When the Prague spring was in full bloom, I was 6 years old. My world was of
any sort unpleasantness. My summer was spent in idyllical surroundings of the
countryside.
